Asbestos Removal in Greater London 0845 073 8602

Up until the year 2000, asbestos was used as a construction material in many buildings, including but not limited to HM Prisons, local and national government offices, and even town halls. The safe removal of asbestos and asbestos-contaminated materials is hugely important, due to the risk of damage to human health.

All government-run and occupied buildings should be surveyed by professionals to identify any risks. Older, larger buildings such as prisons and those used by the Ministry of Defence are particularly affected.

Asbestos is a versatile construction material, but unfortunately it is also very harmful to human health; causing lung disease, cancer and other life-changing illnesses. Since the year 2000, it has not been used in the construction of buildings, but much still exists within educational premises which pre-date the millennium.

Ensuring that all educational buildings – such as nurseries, schools, colleges, universities and adult education centres – are free from asbestos is paramount to ensuring the safety of all users. Prolonged exposure to asbestos fibres in the air can cause serious health problems in the future, and young children in particular should be fully protected.

Those responsible for maintenance and repair in schools and other education institutions have a duty to have the risk of asbestos exposure assessed and removed/managed under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

All Edenbeck Ltd surveyors and asbestos removal experts are fully qualified, experienced and have passed a CRB check. This ensures full compliance with current safety regulations when working around children and vulnerable adults if applicable. Our team will assess the building and your needs, and if any removal or treatment is necessary, will carry out the work efficiently with minimal disturbance to the day-to-day running of the premises.

If you have any questions about asbestos surveying or removal, or if you’d like to book a survey with us, please Contact Us or call the team on 0845 073 8602 today. We’d be happy to speak to you and advise on the next steps.
